Lincoln Police are revisiting one of the department’s longest-running missing person investigations after receiving a new lead in the disappearance of Regina Bos. Bos was 40 years old when she was reported missing on October 17th, 2000. She was last seen leaving Duggan’s Pub in downtown Lincoln and never returned home. She would now be 66.
“LPD recently received a new lead, which prompted additional investigative work in the case in July and August,” says Captain Ben Miller, who oversees LPD’s Criminal Investigations Unit. “While the results of those efforts are not yet known, investigators continue to follow the information and determine where it may lead.”
Miller says investigators have received numerous leads over the years, including credible information, but none has led to finding Bos. LPD is not releasing details about the investigative methods being used because the case remains active.
Miller says advances in technology and forensic capabilities have given investigators new ways to examine old evidence and information. Police are asking anyone with information about Bos’ disappearance, even information that may seem insignificant or outdated, to come forward.
