Three Nebraska lawmakers held a news conference Monday in the Rotunda of the State Capitol to discuss three major pieces of pro-life legislation the Legislature will consider this session.

State Senator Julie Slama introduced LB 778, the Heartbeat Act. That would protect preborn humans from abortion when a fetal heartbeat can be detected.

State Senator Joni Albrecht introduced LB933, the Nebraska humane Life Protection Act. That bill would protect preborn humans from the moment of conception if and when Roe VS Wade is overturned.

Senator Suzanne Geist introduced LB 1086 known as the Chemical Abortion Safety Protocol Act. That would address the problem of unsafe chemical abortion practices by prohibiting them 7 weeks after gestation. It would also adopt regulations to protect the health and welfare of women seeking abortions.
