Lincoln East/Carpet Land heading to American Legion World Series

Four wins in 48 hours propelled Carpet Land/Lincoln East to American Legion World Series. The Rugs finished off their run through the elimination bracket in the Central Plains Regional Tournament in Mandan, N. Dak., with back-to-back 5-1 wins over Rapid City (S.D.) on Sunday. Carpet Land has reached the World Series in three of the last four years.

Bradyn Erickson propelled Carpet Land/Lincoln East to the title, hitting 10-for-15 with 15 RBI over six games at the tournament.

Carpet Land/Lincoln East will open its play in the World Series Thursday in Shelby, N.C., against western regional champion Fairfield, Calif. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
