Two Lincoln men are facing felony drug charges after investigators say they uncovered a large-scale steroid manufacturing and distribution operation. LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says the Lincoln Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force began the investigation June 1, which led to the arrests of 46-year-old Matthew Skibicki and 47-year-old Anthony Rimmer on July 22.
“The investigation centered around a large-scale drug distribution network where Skibicki directed Rimmer to manufacture steroids and use the U.S Postal Service to distribute them and prescription-only substances.” Thomas says around 2:40 p.m. on July 22, the two met and exchanged several items on 8th Street between R and S. Investigators detained the two after the exchange.
“Federal search warrants served on local storage units, multiple vehicles and three residences, including the homes of both men, led to the seizure of hundreds of pounds of raw products for manufacturing controlled substances, paraphernalia, packaging material and more than $70,000 in cash.
Both men were arrested on felony drug distribution charges and possession of money in violation of Nebraska’s controlled substances laws. “The Lincoln Police Department would like to recognize its law enforcement partners at the Drug Enforcement Administration, the United States Postal Inspection Service and the Nebraska State Patrol for their cooperation on this case,” Thomas says.
