The Lancaster County Super Fair is introducing a new admission format aimed at making the annual event more affordable and easier to enjoy. Sandhills Global Event Center Marketing Manager Gina Nathan tells KLIN News parking will be free this year, while admission is just $5 per person, with children 5 and under admitted free.
Fairgoers can also save more by picking up a buy-one-get-one-free admission coupon at participating U-Stop, Super Saver and Russ’s Market locations, or use the coupon for $5 off a grandstand ticket. Nathan says every grandstand ticket also includes fair admission, allowing visitors to enjoy both the concert or event and the fairgrounds with a single ticket.
Nathan says visitors will find plenty to do beyond the carnival rides. “The first four days of the fair, July 30 through August 2, feature 4-H and FFA competitions, making them the best days to see livestock and youth exhibits.”
Free attractions include the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, Wildlife Encounters featuring an alligator exhibit, the Horn T Zoo and Petting Zoo, and the fan-favorite Nowhere BMX Stunt Bike Show. Live music is also scheduled every night.
Nathan says special events include the Nebraska Hispanic Fest on August 2, featuring traditional music, dancing and a taco-eating contest. The MWA Pro Wrestling show returns August 5 with a free cage match included with fair admission, while RibFest runs August 6 through 8, offering a variety of barbecue vendors.
Nathan says the event will also have a different feel this year, with a larger fenced perimeter around the grounds, free parking to speed traffic flow, and expanded air-conditioned indoor spaces designed to make the fair more comfortable and inviting for visitors.
