The Nebraska Task Force 1 Urban Search and Rescue team will be heading to Texas as heavy rain and deadly flooding has inundated the state. Lincoln Fire & Rescue Public Information Officer MJ Lierman tells KLIN News the task force scrambled late this morning to gather equipment and load up trucks.
They will leave Thursday afternoon and will be be head to San Antonio where they will get further instruction. Lierman says the team has 43 members, including 20-25 members from LFR. There are also members from Council Bluffs and Papillion Fire and Rescue.
Six civilians, including engineers and a doctor will also be making the trip along with two canine teams.
