Basketball will take over Lincoln’s Historic Haymarket next month as the YMCA of Lincoln hosts the annual Railyard Rims 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The event is set for Saturday, August 1, at the Railyard.
Youth Cup games begin at 9 a.m., with the Adult Cup tipping off at 1 p.m. Tournament proceeds support YMCA financial assistance programs, helping local children and families access child care, swim lessons, youth sports, summer camps, wellness programs, and other YMCA services regardless of their ability to pay.
“Railyard Rims is one of our favorite days of the summer,” says Todd Johnson, Executive Director of Youth Sports for the YMCA of Lincoln. “It’s competitive, it’s fun, and every team that signs up is helping make sure kids in our community have access to the programs that keep them active and healthy.”
Teams can register at a discounted rate through July 15, which includes a free team T-shirt. Registration will remain open through July 22 at a higher fee. Team registration and sponsorship information is available through the YMCA of Lincoln.
