Lincoln Police say a 50-year-old bicyclist suffered serious injuries Tuesday night after being struck by a car near South 9th and South streets. Lt. Jason Goodwin tells KLIN News officers and LFR crews responded around 8:00 regarding an injury crash between a 2018 white Dodge Charger and a bicyclist.

“The investigation revealed the Charger was southbound on S. 9th Street and approached the intersection, as the southbound traffic signal turned green, when it struck the cyclist,” Goodwin says. “The 50-year-old cyclist had a red traffic signal. He was transported to a local hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The 23-year-old driver of the Charger was not hurt.
