Drivers in south Lincoln should plan for delays starting next week as a major intersection closes for pavement repairs. LTU says beginning Monday the intersection of 27th Street and Van Dorn will be fully closed to traffic.
The project will also shut down through traffic on 27th Street between Sheridan Boulevard and Van Dorn Street, as well as Van Dorn Street between Cedar Avenue and Manse Avenue. City officials are recommending eastbound Van Dorn traffic use 17th Street and South Street as a detour. Westbound motorists are encouraged to use Sheridan Boulevard.
Local access will be maintained whenever possible, and emergency vehicles will continue to have access through the area. LTU is urging drivers to allow extra travel time and use alternate routes while the repairs are underway.
