Lincoln Police are investigating a deadly crash involving a vehicle and a semi at Highway 77 and Warlick Blvd. LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says the preliminary investigation determined the semi was driving north on Highway 77 through a green light around 9:45 a.m. when a southbound sedan turned left in front of the truck.
“The vehicles collided and both ended up in a ditch.” Thomas says the woman driving the car was taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries. The driver of the semi was uninjured. They were the only two involved in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing and crews are working to clear the scene. “Please continue to avoid the area until the intersection is reopened,” Thomas says.
