One person was taken to the hospital after a house fire near near 67th and Holdrege around 4:00 Thursday morning. “Two occupants live in the home with two dogs,” says LFR’s Nancy Crist.  “One of the person’s was assisted out, but there still inside when we got there.”

Crist says says a discarded cigarette caused a fire in the trash can and produced a lot of smoke.  There was no structural damage to the house.   One of the residents was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

Fans were used to clear the smoke from the the house and the two residents have been able to reoccupy it.
