This summer, UNL’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources will host three Discovery Days on East Campus.  The free, family-friendly events will allow attendees to explore agriculture, science, entrepreneurship and the natural world though hands-on activities and interactive exhibits.

Saturday, June 13th, events will being with the opportunity to explore vintage agricultural equipment including tractors.  This event is in partnership with the Tractor Restoration Club and begins at 9 a.m.

Jordan Slagle, the Events and Outreach Manager for the Vice Chancellor of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources told KLIN News, “From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. around the East Campus loop, ” We’ll have live music, we usually have two performances. Also, the Lincoln City Libraries is going to be coming out with their Bookmobile that day. We have food trucks, all of our campus departments will be there as well.  And then of course, we have some vendors who come, so it’s a little bit of everything.”

In addition, the event is DOG-FRIENDLY.

2 other Discovery Days events will take place this summer including:

July 11: Kids Market: Child Entrepreneurs — Young entrepreneurs will showcase and sell products ranging from crafts and baked goods to creative business ventures during the Kids Market. The event is designed to encourage innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurship among youth.

Aug. 8: Bug Fest — The popular event returns with hands-on insect activities, educational displays and opportunities to learn about entomology, pollinators and Nebraska ecosystems. Families can interact with scientists, explore insect collections, and participate in activities for all ages.
