The Nebraska baseball team’s season ended with an 11-6 loss to Arizona State Sunday in the NCAA Regionals at Hawks Field in Lincoln.

The Sun Devils (39-20) led 5-1 thru three innings and 11-1 through six before the Cornhuskers (43-17) rallied with five runs in the seventh and two in the ninth.

Arizona State was by Dominic Smaldino, who was 2-for-4 with six RBI and two home runs. Colby Guy (2-0) earned the win on the mound for the Sun Devils, allowing just four hits and one earned run in six innings. Gavin Blachowicz (4-4) took the loss for NU, five runs (one earned) and six hits in three innings. Jeter Worthley paced the Huskers’ offense in a losing cause, hitting 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI.

ASU advances to the regional finals, facing Ole Miss. Arizona State would need to beat the Rebels twice to advance to Super Regionals, while Ole Miss needs to win just once. Meanwhile, Nebraska’s season ends in regionals. The Huskers, the No. 13 national seed, were the second top 16 seed to be eliminated from the tournament.
