A late charge led Ole Miss to a 6-3, rain-delayed victory over Nebraska Sunday in the NCAA Regionals at Hawks Field in Lincoln. The game started Saturday night and the first eight innings were played until a thunderstorm resulted in the suspension of the game until noon Sunday. It was picked up then and the Rebels finished off the victory.

The Cornhuskers led the game 1-0 through four innings. A Jett Buck homer to right field accounted for the lone run of the game until the top of the sixth, when Owen Paino gave Ole Miss the lead with a two-run double to right-center. Later in the inning, Brayden Randle singled in Paino to push the Rebels’ lead to 3-1. Back-to-back bases-loaded walks to Paino and Austin Fawley boosted the lead to 5-1. Then in the eight, Will Furniss singled in a run to grow the lead to five. Max Buettenback hit a two-run homer to left to pull Nebraska to within 6-3, but the Huskers drew no closer.

Ty Horn (3-3) took the loss. In 5.2 innings, he allowed three runs, all earned and six hits while striking out nine. Taylor Rabe (5-3) earned the win on the mound, throwing six innings while allowing one run and striking out nine.

Nebraska now prepares to take on Arizona State in an elimination bracket game at 2 p.m. at Hawks Field. Huskers Radio Network coverage begins on KLIN at 1:30 p.m.
