Lincoln Parks and Recreation says eight city pools are now open after some issues on Memorial Day. Several pools, including Ballard, Irvingdale, Highlands, Eden, University Place and Star City Shores, reopened Tuesday after crowded conditions forced early closures Monday due to water quality interruptions.
The Arnold Pool on Northwest 46th Street remains closed because of mechanical issues. Family swim nights also begin this week. The special sessions run from 6 to 8 p.m. and cost 15 dollars per family for up to two adults and four children.
Family swim nights are scheduled Mondays at Belmont Pool, Tuesdays at Eden, Wednesdays at Irvingdale and Highlands, and Thursdays at Ballard Pool. City pools are open daily from 1 to 6 p.m. through the summer season. In addition, the free Trago Sprayground at 22nd and U Streets is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Labor Day.
