The No. 20 Nebraska baseball team fell in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament to No. 14 Oregon, 8-0, Saturday at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha. The loss ends the Cornhuskers’ attempt to win three straight Big Ten Tournaments.
The Ducks scored single runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings to build a 3-0 lead before a four-run seventh all but clinched the game for Oregon. The Ducks tacked on one more run in the ninth.
Will Sanford allowed two hits in six innings to earn the win on the mound. Drew Smith was 1-for-3 with four RBI and a double to pace the Ducks lineup. Nebraska mustered just four hits for the game.
