Nebraska will be part of the nation’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday next summer in Washington, D.C. Governor Jim Pillen has announced the state will participate in the Freedom 250 “Great American State Fair,” scheduled for June 25th through July 10th on the National Mall.

“Nebraska’s pavilion will highlight the people, industries, traditions, and stories that define our state, from agriculture and manufacturing to innovation, faith, family, and our deep-rooted patriotism,” Pillen says.  “As we celebrate the first 250 years of our nation’s history, we also look forward to contributing to the next 250 years of American leadership, opportunity, and freedom.”

The exhibit will feature interactive displays, Nebraska-made products, tourism attractions, and other experiences designed to highlight the state’s leadership in agriculture and industry. Organizers say all 50 states and U.S. territories will take part in the Great American State Fair, which will include exhibits, performances, educational programming, and cultural events commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary.

State officials say additional details about Nebraska’s pavilion, partnerships, and programming will be released in the coming weeks.
