A 16 year old old is accused of leaving the scene of an injury accident after running from the scene around 9:15 a.m. on Sunday. A Nissan Maxima was seen speeding on 10th Street approaching New Hampshire. At the same time, a Nissan Kicks was stopped facing west on New Hampshire at 10th. The 70 year old driver looked both ways and proceeded into the intersection and was hit by the Maxima.

The collision sent both vehicles north and the Maxima hit a sign and then the Neveria Arcoiris restaurant at 1317 N. 10th Street. The collision caused an estimated $5,100 damage to the sign and the building.

Two people in the Maxima got out and ran before officers arrived. The driver of the Kicks was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators determined that a 16 year old was driving the Maxima. Just before 10:30 a.m. on Monday, the driver was located and referred and released for leaving the scene of an injury accident.
