Denise Powell has won the Democratic nomination in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District.
The Nebraska Examiner reports that Douglas County election officials confirmed that the early-voting ballots to be counted tomorrow will not be enough for State Senator John Cavanaugh to win.
In a Wednesday evening news release, Powell said, “Thank you to my family and friends, my team, and to every candidate who ran – It takes guts to step into the arena, and you have my respect for your willingness to show up and serve.”
Powell will face Republican Brinker Harding in the General Election.
