Forthcoming updates to the StarTran’s paratransit program will include a new online submission option and administration, Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) announced Monday.

The changes will take effect June 1. The new online submission option will coincide with the transfer of program administration from the League of Human Dignity to FBA Nebraska.

The application process will remain simple and familiar, said Carla Cosier, Assistant Director of Transit, in a statement.

Riders and healthcare providers will continue using the existing application form. Applicants are encouraged to submit materials electronically through a secure portal for faster processing. Paper applications will still be accepted by mail or fax, now sent to FBA Nebraska’s processing center.

“This update makes it faster and easier for riders to submit their applications and get the support they need,” Cosier said. “Passengers can submit forms online, by mail, or by fax, and the StarTran team is ready to guide them every step of the way.”

FBA Nebraska and StarTran team members will be available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., by phone or email. In-person meetings are available if a functional assessment is needed.

Current riders do not need to take action until their next renewal. FBA Nebraska will contact them at that time and provide guidance. New applicants will use the updated process once it takes effect.
