Lincoln Police called to the Taco Johns near 27th and Cornhusker around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 11th on a report that two males were in a Ford Escort in the drive-thru and were yelling and threatening an employee. The driver then pointed a gun through the drive-thru window. He and the passenger then gout out of the car and went inside. Both were gone when police arrived. Officers were told the driver was the ex-boyfriend of a 15 year old employee.
At 7:00 p.m., police were called back to the restaurant. Two men reported they were threatened by a 16 year old with a gun. Both feared for their safety. The teen in the Ford Escort left the area before police arrived.
The 16 year old suspect and the vehicle were located at 16th and B Street around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 12th. The vehicle was searched and a loaded .380 handgun was in the glove box along with additional ammunition. Officers also found 2.3 grams of marijuana in the vehicle.
The 16 year old was arrested and referred for terroristic threats, possession a firearm by a prohibited juvenile offender, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of marijuana, and carrying a concealed weapon.
