Lincoln Police are investigating a burglary at a south Lincoln sports card store that may be connected to an earlier break-in the same morning at an adult novelty store.

Officers were called just after 7:15 a.m. Wednesday to Capital City Sports Cards near 59th Street and Old Cheney Road, where the front door had been shattered and a display case broken.

Investigators say multiple card cases inside the store had been opened and rummaged through. A rock believed to have been used in the break-in was found inside.

Surveillance video shows a suspect wearing clothing similar to a person involved in a separate burglary at Romantix near 10th and South streets around 2:30 a.m. Police believe the sports card store burglary occurred about 15 minutes later.

Damage to the business is estimated at about $3,500. The store is still determining what items may have been stolen.

The suspect is described as a man wearing a tan Carhartt-style coat, black mask, gray sweatpants, gray shoes, black gloves and carrying a black bag.
