A 14-year-old boy is accused of punching a 14-year-old female classmate several times in a hallway at Lefler Middle School on Tuesday afternoon during dismissal. LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says the girl was taken to the hospital by her family.
“She suffered swelling to her nose and a cut above her eye that required stitches.” Thomas says the girl was also being treated for a possible brain bleed. The boy was referred and released for misdemeanor assault.
It’s not known what led to the incident.
