The Northeast Senior Center near 63rd and Platte Avenue in Havelock will remain closed through the end of April due to continued cleanup of water damage in the building. Aging Partners Director Randall Jones tells KLIN News the issue sprung up last month.
“We had over a weekend a leak that developed with our ice machine and it wasn’t caught.” Jones says all of that leaked water forced their floor tile to come up. Until all of the the repairs are made, Jones says all scheduled programs, including lunch service have been moved to the Victory Park Senior Center south of 70th and O Street.
Jones says transportation is available to take patrons to Victory Park Center. Senior center staff are currently in contact with individuals previously scheduled for transportation and lunch this week at the Northeast Center.
New lunch reservations at the Victory Park Center must be made two days in advance by calling 402-441-7154.
