A Lincoln man has been charged with child abuse and sexual assault of a minor following allegations involving a teenage girl.

According to KLIN media partner 10/11 NOW, court records show that 47-year-old William Lloyd is facing two counts of child abuse and one count of third-degree sexual assault of a child. Documents allege Lloyd had inappropriate contact with a 14-year-old girl, which the victim said negatively affected her mental health.

The teen told police she and two friends were staying at a home when Lloyd invited them to his camper. Court records allege Lloyd provided the group with alcohol and marijuana while they listened to music. The victim told officers Lloyd sexually assaulted her during the encounter.

According to court documents, Lloyd later apologized to the victim and her friends, describing his actions as a “test.”

Lloyd was arrested Friday at his home and booked into the Lancaster County Jail. His bond was set at 10% of $350,000. He is scheduled to return to court May 6.
