A recall effort of a Waverly School Board member has failed.
Andy Grosshans was the target of the recall after the board gave superintendent Cory Worrell power to make emergency decisions like closing school or mask mandates in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
44.8% of eligible voters returned the mail ballot with 17.35% of votes for recalling Grosshan and 82.65% opposed to the recall.
Grosshans has served on the board since 2009.
