The Lincoln Police Department kept busy over the Saint Patrick’s Day holiday, paying officers overtime to conduct an impaired driving crackdown between March 13 and 21.

The department shared the results of their enforcement effort Tuesday.

During the project, both on-duty and off-duty LPD Officers made a total of 35 arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Of the 88 traffics stops initiated by officers, 78 citations were issued, 15 of those for speeding and 13 for no registration. Officers also let 28 drivers off with a warning.

The enforcement campaign was funded by a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
