Law enforcement officials converged on a southwest Lincoln neighborhood Tuesday afternoon. Lancaster County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says just before 1:00 members of the Metro Area Fugitive Task Force were in the area of 7th and C Street attempting to locate 36-year-old Dustin Petersen of Lincoln.
Houchin says Petersen has two felony warrants out of Lancaster County for possession of a controlled substance and burglary as well as a felony warrant for possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person in York County.
” OuR Tactical Response Unit served a warrant on the residence,” Houchin says. “We did have to use chemical agents to get him out, but he did come out the back door peacefully and no one was injured.” Petersen was taken into custody around 2:00.
Houchin says their Bearcat armored vehicle to breach the door so they could deploy the chemicals. Petersen was taken into custody around 2:00pm. He was then taken to a local hospital to be treated.
Park Middle School went into secure status after being notified of the incident by law enforcement. Secure means everyone is brought inside the building and entrances are locked and monitored.
