A Lincoln family was forced from their home near 40th and Old Cheney after fire broke out just before 2:00 Sunday morning.  LFR Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says the residents awoke to the smell of smoke inside their home at 5610 Coyote Circle.

She says the fire started in the attached garage and was engulfed in flames when LFR crews arrived.  Lierman says the flames extended into the home and also spread to the garage next door.  She says the fire caused $200,000 in damage to the first home and $75,000 to the contents.  The four people living there will have to find another place to stay.

The neighboring home sustained $20,000 in damage.  No one was hurt and the cause is not yet known.
