Lincoln Police were called to Shotguns Bar at 13th and P Street around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 6th after the owner discovered an overnight burglary. The manager arrived at 9 a.m. to find 43 year old Ryan Wiess leaving the bar. There were no signs of forced entry. It was determined that an unknown amount of money was missing from the business.
The owner and manager believe an alcohol delivery company may have accidentally left their set of keys in the door lock on January 5th. Video showed Wiess inside the bar with a handful of cash.
At 8:15 p.m. Thursday, the owner called police reporting that Weiss was standing in front of the bar. Wiess was wearing the same clothing as seen in the video surveillance. Police found some of the stolen currency and a key to the front door during a search of Wiess. He was booked for burglary.
