Nebraska State Patrol troopers made a huge drug bust Tuesday, Feb. 24, during a commercial vehicle inspection in Dawson County near Lexington.
NSP says a Carrier Enforcement trooper was inspecting a semi tractor/trailer near mile marker 254 on Interstate 80, and during the inspection, the trooper became suspicious of criminal activity.
An NSP K9 detected the odor of a controlled substance inside the cab of the semi. A search of the cab turned up 242 pounds of suspected cocaine concealed underneath the sleeper bed.
The driver, 30-year-old Arwinderjit Singh of Manteca, California, was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver, possession of an open alcohol container, and displaying a fictitious license plate.
Singh was lodged in Dawson County Jail.
