No. 12 Nebraska men’s basketball surged late to lock down a 13th Big Ten win, tying the school record for conference wins in a season, with a 74-61 victory over Maryland. The Cornhuskers (24-4, 13-4 Big Ten) rode a 15-3 surge late in the second half to take control after the Terrapins (11-17, 4-13 Big Ten) within single digits of NU for most of the second half.

Maryland scored the first six points of the game. A 6-0 run by Nebraska gave the Huskers a 19-13 lead with 7:13 to play in the half. NU led by as many as seven in the first half and took a 33-27 lead to halftime. The Huskers led until Maryland pushed ahead 46-45 with 13 minutes to go. A Mills basket extended the lead to 48-45 with 12 minutes remaining. But then Nebraska’s 15-3 run gave the Huskers control of the game, leading 67-54 with 3:17 to play, and Nebraska held on from there.
