NWS 2-17-26
A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures in the forecast has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a RED FLAG WARNING FROM NOON TO 8 PM.
These conditions can contribute to extreme wildfire behavior. Highs today in the upper 70s and strong, Southwest winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are forecast for much of Eastern and Central Nebraska.
Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly, and outdoor burning is not recommended. Additional details are available here 2-17-26 NWS AM DssPacket
