Police have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing in central Lincoln.
Just before noon on Friday, Feb. 13, officers were called to an apartment complex in the area of S. 26th and “K” Streets on a report that someone had been stabbed.
LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas tells KLIN News that one person, a 50-year-old man known to the suspect, “was stabbed several times.”
“He was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition and a folding knife was recovered at the scene,” she said. A manhunt ensued with officers searching the area while the suspect was believed to be armed and dangerous.
Thomas says 28-year-old Jesse Salamanca was taken into custody after a foot pursuit in the area of 54th and Colby Street around 2:15 p.m.
Charges for Salamanca are pending.
