The Salvation Army has reached it’s Tree of Lights campaign goal for the season and the star on top of their Christmas tree in front of HOME Realty at 53rd and O Street has now been lit.    “We have raised  $643,927.68,  a little over $18,000 over the goal for the season says Major Mark Anderson.

The Tree of Lights campaign goal was $625,000.00.  Anderson says due to COVID-19 they did not hold a formal event to light the star and celebrate the achievement.  “we’ve gone ahead and virtually lit the star and we just want folks to drive past that tree and view all those lights as a bright light beacon of hope.”

Anderson says they are grateful for the community support during the campaign. “We would like to extend an immeasurable “thank you” to our Lincoln Community that blesses and subsidizes our work.”  The money will allow them support needy families not only during the holidays but throughout the rest of the year.
