Lincoln Police are investigating after a 50-year-old man was assaulted at bus stop near SW 26th and W. South Streets around 6:30 Tuesday morning.
“Witnesses told officers three unknown individuals wearing masks assaulted a man when he approached the bus stop by tackling him to the ground, hitting and kicking him, and striking him with a baseball bat,” says Public Information Manager Erika Thomas.
She says they then ran to a waiting white SUV at SW 27th which drove away. “The victim was taken to the hospital with broken ribs, a laceration to the top of the head which required staples,
severe swelling and bruising.”
