Governor Pete Ricketts announced Wednesday that beginning Monday, April 5 everyone in Nebraska will be able to go to any age category to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.  He says the Pfizer vaccine is available to those 16 and older and Moderna for 18 and over.

Ricketts says it will be up to each health district in the state to determine if they are prepared to go to any age category.  He says those that aren’t ready don’t have to open up for all ages until they have finished the higher age populations first.

He says so far they have delivered more than 860,000 vaccines to people’s arms. He also pointed out Wednesday that the number of COVID-19 cases have increased in the past three weeks and the number of hospitalizations are up 14 since Monday.  “We were at 102 and now were at 116,” Ricketts says.  He is encouraging all Nebraskans who haven’t been vaccinated to get signed up at vaccinate.ne.org
