Legendary Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame Wednesday, the 21st Cornhusker selected as a Hall of Famer.
He is the fourth Nebraska defensive lineman elected to the Hall of Fame, joining Grant Wistrom, Rich Glover and Wayne Meylan. Suh’s senior season in 2009 was one of the greatest defensive seasons in college football history. He made 21 tackles for loss and 15 sacks that season. His highlight performance was the 2009 Big 12 Championship game against Texas, making seven tackles for loss. Suh was the anchor of one of the top Blackshirt defenses in school history, as the 2009 Huskers allowed just 10.43 points per game, the fewest of any college football team that year. Suh’s season garnered a full complement of awards, as he was a consensus first-team All-American and winner of the Bednarik, Lombardi, Nagurski, and Outland trophies and Associated Press College Football Player of the Year honors. Suh finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting, becoming the first defensive lineman in 15 years to be a finalist for college football’s top honor.
Suh was drafted second in the 2010 NFL Draft and went on to a 13-year NFL career with Lions, Dolphins, Rams, Buccaneers and Eagles. He won the Super Bowl in 2020 with Tampa Bay. Suh is now an entrepreneur, real estate developer, and podcast host. He made a $2.6 million gift to Nebraska academics and athletics, and was selected to both the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame and the Nebraska Athletics Hall of Fame, and his No. 93 jersey was retired.
Suh is one of 22 members of the Class of 2026 of the College Football Hall of Fame. They will be formally inducted into the Hall of Fame in ceremonies in Las Vegas, Nev., on Dec. 8, 2026.
