Dust off the shovel and gas up the snow blower. National Weather Service Meteorologist Taylor Nicolaisen says snow will start around 9:00 Friday night and continue into New Years Day.  How much snow we will get is still not known.  He says there are several different models, but he says 2-6 inches is possible.

He says strong winds will create bitterly cold conditions.  “I would expect some wind gusts of 25-30 miles per hour and if you have snow whipping around in that strong wind, reduced visibilities and travel will be an issue, especially where that snow is the heaviest.”

Nicolaisen says by the time the clock strikes midnight on Friday it will be close to zero degrees.  “Temperatures on Saturday will be close to 10 above and it will feel colder than that.”
