A red flag warning is in effect from 12 p.m. through 8 p.m. Tuesday due to extreme fire danger.   Conditions are favorable for rapid fire spread.  Caution should be taken to avoid activities that may lead to fire ignition.   Northwest winds will gust to 35 MPH and relative humidity values will be at 15% to 25%.  Areas impacted will be northeast Nebraska.

Any fires that begin may rapidly grow and become very difficult to control.  Open burning or other activities that may lead to sparks are NOT advised.

The area impacted is north of Lincoln and includes communities north of Grand Island heading northwest to Wayne and Sioux City, Iowa.
