The Salvation Army in Lincoln says they have nearly reached their $625-thousand Tree of Lights Campaign goal. “We are at 95 percent as of Christmas Eve and know that we’ll be able to get over the top by right after the first of the year for sure,” says Major Mark Anderson.
He tells KLIN News when they reach their goal, the star on top of their giant tree at 52nd and O Street will be lit. The money raised helps them serve needy families year around. “It’s just going to make a big difference this year. Need has no season so as we enter into 2022 we will be counting on the support we received during the holiday season,” Major Anderson says.
He’s asking people to consider the Salvation Army in their end of year giving. Donations can be dropped off at the Salvation Army at 2625 Potter Street.
