Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) has released the 25 finalists submissions for the 2025 Name That Snowplow contest.
LTU Spokewoman Erika Hill says this is third and final year of the contest. Community members submitted 164 names this year, which were whittled down to 25 finalists by the LTU Operations and Maintenance team.
“We appreciate the strong participation and creativity our community brings to this contest,” said LTU Director Liz Elliott. “These names add some fun to the winter season and help people feel connected to the work that keeps Lincoln moving.”
Residents may visit lincoln.ne.gov/NameThatSnowplow to vote for the names now through December 19. The top eight vote getters will then appear on city snowplows, joining the 16 named snowplows already in service.
