Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule announced that offensive line coach Donovan Raiola would not be retained through a statement released by the NU Athletic Department Saturday afternoon. Raiola was the lone holdover from Scott Frost’s last staff, and had served as the Cornhuskers’ offensive line coach for four years, including this season.
“I informed Donovan Raiola today that he will not be retained as our offensive line coach,” Rhule said. “We thank Donovan for his contributions to Nebraska Football over the past four years and wish him the best moving forward.”
Raiola’s line paved the way for Emmett Johnson to earn Big Ten Running Back of the Year honors, as Johnson rushed for 1,451 yards and 12 touchdowns. But the line also had issues protecting Husker passers, as NU quarterbacks were sacked 30 times.
Raiola is the uncle of Dylan Raiola, the starting quarterback for Nebraska’s first nine games, and the brother of former All-American center Dominic Raiola. Earlier this month, Dayton Raiola decommitted from the Huskers after he was the first commit of the Class of 2026.
