Lincoln Police became suspicious of a man parked in a Chrysler Sebring near 22nd and F Street around 2:00 Wednesday afternoon. “Due to the vehicle’s proximity to Lincoln High School, the time of day, near student release, and the fact that the occupant remained in the vehicle for several minutes without moving, the officer became concerned about the occupant,” says Sergeant Chris Vigil.
The officer contacted 28-year-old Hser Htoo in the driver’s seat of the car and struck up a conversation with him. During the conversation, the officer determined Htoo had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. “Htoo started reaching toward the front passenger side of the car, but the officers gave him several commands to stop and exit the vehicle. Htoo did eventually step out of the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident,” Vigil says.
Police found a samurai sword in a sheath with a 19 inch blade concealed between the driver’s seat and the front driver’s side door. Officers also located a silver knife with a 6 1/2 inch blade partially concealed on the front passenger seat and a glass pipe in the center console. Vigil says methamphetamine residue was found in the pipe.
Htoo was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and his two outstanding warrants.
