Lincoln Police are warning residents after several card skimmers were found on payment machines inside Family Dollar stores on Tuesday. The locations were 11th and Belmont, 24th and N and near 13th and Arapahoe.
“They have since been removed, but anyone who may have shopped at those locations recently is advised to check their accounts for any potential fraudulent charges or missing funds,” says LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas.
She says surveillance video showed the the suspects distracting an employee and then installing the skimmer while their back was turned. The investigation into identifying those responsible is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000.
