If you’re looking to get into the holiday spirit, a festive gallery of decorative Christmas Tree’s will be on display at Lincoln’s Gateway Mall beginning Wednesday night. The 15th annual Starry Nights Christmas Tree Festival to benefit the People’s City Mission will be open Wednesday through Sunday nights, except Thanksgiving.
People’s City Mission CEO pastor Tom Barber says the annual fundraiser helps support Lincoln’s homeless community. “During the event, you can bid on stunning, full-sized Christmas trees, each one uniquely designed and decorated, for our online auction,” Barber says.
And he says don’t worry about getting it home because they will handle the delivery. Barber says if you’re tight on space, they also have smaller trees ready for you to purchase and take home right from the event.
During the event guests can stroll through PCM’s festive Christmas market filled with wreaths, mugs, ornaments from their Be Kind Tree. There will be a Letters to Santa station, a photo booth where families can make Christmas cards, an interactive scavenger hunt and live entertainment all week long.
The event is free to attend and Barber says it’s a way of saying to the community for all of the support they received throughout the year.
