Nebraska middle blocker Rebekah Allick and setter Bergan Reilly were honored by the Big Ten Monday. Allick earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, while Reilly shared Big Ten Setter of the Week with USC’s Reese Messer.

Allick’s honor came after she had 11 blocks in sweeps of No. 11 Wisconsin and Oregon. With her efforts, she became the fifth Husker in the rally scoring era to total 500 career blocks. Allick was honored for the second time this season and the fourth time in her career.

Reilly was named Co-Setter of the Week by the Big Ten after averaging 10.67 set assists per set in the sweep wins over the Badgers and Ducks. Nebraska hit a blistering .372 in the two victories, including .349 against Wisconsin, which entered Friday’s match as the second-best defensive team in the Big Ten. Reilly was honored by the Big Ten for the fourth time this season and 12th time in her career.

The No. 1 Nebraska volleyball team is next in action Thursday against Illinois. First serve is slated for 7 p.m., with pregame coverage beginning at 6 p.m. on KLIN and B-107.3.
