A 40-year-old Lincoln woman called police around 1:15 Sunday morning after three teenagers tried to break into her SUV near 29th and ‘E’ Streets. LPD Public Information manager Erika Thomas says when she approached them they fired a gun at her and ran off.
“When officers arrived, they located the three teenagers nearby, ages 19, 17 and 13, and took them into custody,” Thomas says. “Four shell casings were found at the scene and bullet holes were located in the SUV’s fender and on the home near the front door frame.”
19-year-old Josiah Cuevas was taken to the Lancaster County Jail and booked for attempted theft by taking over $5,000 and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The 17-year-old and 13-year-olds were taken to the Youth Services Center for attempted theft by taking over $5,000.
Investigators are still trying to determine which teen fired the gun.
