Cass County deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 75 late Tuesday morning that temporarily closed both directions of traffic beneath the Webster Boulevard bridge.
In a news release, authorities said the crash happened around 11:57 a.m. when a 51-year-old man from Oklahoma, driving a black semi-truck southbound, crossed into the northbound lanes after the driver suffered a medical episode.
A red northbound semi, driven by a 41-year-old Kansas man, attempted to avoid the collision but struck the trailer portion of the southbound vehicle.
The Kansas driver sustained minor injuries and was able to walk away from the scene. The Oklahoma driver was airlifted by LifeFlight for medical evaluation.
Both directions of Highway 75 were closed temporarily while crews cleared debris and reopened the roadway. The crash remains under investigation.
