LTU is inviting the public to take part in the Name That Snowplow contest. Residents can submit snowplow names now through November 5, and through late December, vote for their favorites.
The winning names will appear on eight City snowplows. “Winter in Lincoln is a time to celebrate our community’s creativity and the hard work of our winter operations team,” says LTU Director Liz Elliott.
“After two years of clever entries like Betty Whiteout, Truck Norris, and Sleetwood Mac, we can’t wait to see this year’s submissions.” This is the third and final year of the Name That Snowplow contest. Elliott said in 2024, the community submitted more than 500 names.
LTU snowfighters reviewed the name submissions and selected the final 25 names for consideration. The community then voted on their top final eight names. You can submit your snowplow name by clicking here.
